Refreshing

I watched the Saddleback Forum with McCain and Obama.

It was refreshing to hear questions that were not loaded and to have them answer without a bunch of bickering.

So many of the debates that the media holds are useless.

I think the MSM could learn from this. Ask a question and then let the guy answer.

We can decide on our own which candidate is more to our liking.

I thought McCain was concise.

Good point. Anyone who makes the ballot should be allowed in the debates.

And if you ask me, anyone who meets the constitutional requirements for a particular office should be allowed on the ballot if they wish to run.  The hoops that the states make third party candidates jump through are ridiculous.  If a third party candidate has to collect 16,000 signatures to get on the ballot why don't the two major parties have to do the same?  Sure the two major parties should be able to do it easily but that shouldn't mean they get a pass on it.

I totally agree.  I have signed many a petition to get people on ballots that I will never vote for.  As I believe they have the right to run. (I am sure the FBI has my name on file for a few of my signatures. )

Oh, and one of the MSM counted how many times he said Jesus and Christian, etc. It was more times than McCain

Sure it's called pandering. Obama (more so than others) does it based on the group he is currently speaking to (note than he didn't mention clinging to religion at this forum, that was for the elitist group in CA, and did the president of the world thing in Germany). I'm hoping he will meet with black musicians/singers soon so I can hear him rap, that should be entertaining. I just hope he never meets with Hamas or Iran, he might declare jihad on the US!

You are right..and at Saddleback it was easy to see. Obama in the pandering mode...he takes his time and answers each question with lots of uhs, and ums, and picks every word making sure he's hitting every proper chord with who ever is in his audience. He's not real at all, in that he's not ever spontaneous, off the cuff, or from the heart and that's one of the reasons why McCain soundly came out ahead in this particular forum.

Absolutely, you're a disruptive influence!

Did you ever criticize Bush for his lack of elocution?

My Mom always told me religion and politics don't mix.

Stevendedalus,

Obama's "uhs" and "ums" came mostly when explaining his pro-abortion stance. He parsed every word trying to seem more in the middle to the pro-life crowd in the audience.   It didn't work.

Pres. Bush doesn't have that problem.

Pres. Bush doesn't have that problem.
Precisely, everything comfortably in black and white.
